The Abita Mystery House [also known as the UCM Museum] is a roadside attraction in Abita Springs near New Orleans. It is a folk art environment with 1000’s of found objects, and home made inventions. This wasn’t on my master list until we got an inside local tip on our first night in town.

Off I-12, Abita Springs/Mandeville Exit 65. The UCM is one block east on Hwy. 36 from the Abita Springs roundabout. Located in the town’s historic district on the popular Tammany Trace bicycle trail. The Abita Brew Pub, known as the original home of Abita Beer, is located nearby.
