San Joaquin Valley Ruin Porn
On my way back to Tulare after a nice day celebrating Juneteenth @ historic Allensworth, CA, I spotted this old abandoned grain elevator next to Corcoran State Prison.
In the farming communities of the Central Valley there are often one or more smaller grain elevators that serve the local growers/farmers. These classic corrugated steel conveyor loaded grain bins often contain a loading area for trucks, with a scale and office on one side, a rail line on the other side and additional storage annexes in between.
The amount of pigeon poop on the floor wasn’t as bad as some of the other abandoned places I’ve visited but it was still pretty disgusting.
Corcoran State Prison is only 9 miles away and this would be a pretty good place to hideout if one was able to escape. It would also probably be one of the first places they would come search for you, so maybe not.
