Reviewing where we’ve been, where we’re going and counting down the top 10 most popular posts of the year.
We definitely weren’t a straynger to the range in 2017 as we continued our search for the most amazing places within California’s Mojave Desert, Eastern Sierra and Owens Valley. We also started venturing further into San Diego County which has opened up a whole new world of exciting possibilities for us to explore. Head over to our Vimeo channel to check out some of our most recent adventures from there including; the mud caves of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, the abandoned “impossible railway” of the Carrizo Gorge, and the flumes, channels and hand dug tunnels of a 13 mile-long historic aqueduct built between 1907-1909.
On April 1, 2017, we celebrated the one year anniversary of launching our website and while there has been a slight decrease in the number of posts we’ve published since then, we’ve still been working hard creating content. In fact, in 2017 we brought you 21 original posts, 83 videos, and 7 events, 3 of which were volunteer oriented, which we plan to do more of in 2018. We also launched our facebook page and continued to grow our audience on Instagram, so please don’t call us lazy:) So what can you expect from us in 2018? More posts, more videos and even more events that focus on giving a little something back. We will continue to help out our friends at the Wild Burro Rescue and Preservation Project in Olancha, CA just like we did in 2017 but hope to organize even more Bunks & Burros group events and also add some smaller individual experiences at the sanctuary in the coming year. Earlier this month we joined forces with the Mojave Desert Land Trust (MDLT) to help make “The Gateway to Joshua Tree National Park” beautiful again by organizing a group of friends to help pick up trash. Expect more collaborations like this in 2018.
Now that you know what to expect from us in the coming year, let’s take a look back at the top 10 most popular posts of 2017. Note: This list was based only on the 21 posts published in 2017 and not the 333 other posts currently available at strayngerranger.com.
