Photographing the abandoned Point Reyes shipwreck in Inverness, CA and eating way too many oysters at the Hog Island Oyster Farm across the bay in Marshall.
The Point Reyes shipwreck is an abandoned boat, washed up on the western shore of Tomales Bay in the town of Inverness, CA.
There isn’t much of a backstory, other than it’s just someone’s old fishing boat that ran aground, that’s become one of the most photographed locations in Northern California.
Don’t let the No Trespassing signs scare you, those are for the business located behind the boat, the trail is on public land.
I heart the S.S. Point Reyes.

I LOVE oysters, so a visit out to the Hog Island Oyster Farm in Marshall, on Tomales Bay was a mandatory stop on our way to Napa.
Just what the doctor ordered.
Located at the front entrance of Hog Island Oyster Farm is “The Hog Shack”. Here they sell their own freshly harvested oysters and shellfish, complimented with seasonal varieties purchased direct from other growers.
All oysters and shellfish are sold live and unshucked.
